St. Patrick's Day Fun!
Top of the mornin' to ya!! We love St. Patrick's Day at our house! The kids have been planning their leprechaun trap for a few weeks now. For our FHE activity we put our trap together. They made a rainbow with a pot of gold (the change from my purse) to lure the leprechauns over. The plan was for the leprechaun to lift the pot of gold which would drop the "cloud" camoflauged cup over him. They were so excited and sure that they were going to get a leprechaun this year!!
For our FHE lesson we talked about the difference between being "lucky" and being "blessed". We wrote and colored on shamrocks the things we are blessed with.
During the night the leprechauns snuck into our house and the mischeif began! They TP'd our kitchen, colored our milk and our toilet water green, and polka-dotted our arms and feet with green marker! Little stinkers! They even got away with the gold in the trap! Fortunately for us, while making their getaway, they spilled gold chocolate coins everywhere!!!

For breakfast we used the green milk to make oatmeal, which turned our oatmeal GREEN!
Our dinner consisted of green mac-n-cheese, spinach, green grapes, and rainbow jello. Maybe next year we'll go the corned beef and cabbage route. It just doesn't sound as fun. Might have to wait til the kids are older. We'll see!

Fun with Cousins
Last weekend we got to spend time with some of the Clark family (the Olsons and the Gibbens). We BBQ'd, rode bikes, played on their playset, and made S'mores (which quickly turned into a marshmallow fight). It was a perfect opportunity to try out the kids new bikes!

Blue and Gold
We attended our first Blue and Gold Banquet tonight. The leaders really put together a fun night for the boys and their families. The theme was "Happy 100th Birthday BSA". We dined on pizza, nachos, and popcorn while surrounded with colorful balloons and streamers. Each of the boys were asked to make a cake. The cakes were amazing. These boys went all out!
Here is Gage with the "camping" cake he made. (Mom baked the cake but Gage did all the decorating). Excellent job Gage! I think the chocolate rocks were our favorite part of the cake.
Here are some of the other cakes. Aren't they great! Go boys!
And more cakes...

and more. (I wish I had pictures of all the cakes. This is just a sampling.)
Carrigan and her friends drumming on their cups while waiting for things to start.
Amberly was drumming too.
Sister Kerr, our Cub Master, saying goodbye to Sister Schank who has been released as Scout Committee Chair. I was recently called as the new Committe Chair. I hope I can measure up, Zoila is fabulous and has left big (huge) shoes for me to fill.
