St. Patrick's Day Fun!

Top of the mornin' to ya!! We love St. Patrick's Day at our house! The kids have been planning their leprechaun trap for a few weeks now. For our FHE activity we put our trap together. They made a rainbow with a pot of gold (the change from my purse) to lure the leprechauns over. The plan was for the leprechaun to lift the pot of gold which would drop the "cloud" camoflauged cup over him. They were so excited and sure that they were going to get a leprechaun this year!!For our FHE lesson we talked about the difference between being "lucky" and being "blessed". We wrote and colored on shamrocks the things we are blessed with.

During the night the leprechauns snuck into our house and the mischeif began! They TP'd our kitchen, colored our milk and our toilet water green, and polka-dotted our arms and feet with green marker! Little stinkers! They even got away with the gold in the trap! Fortunately for us, while making their getaway, they spilled gold chocolate coins everywhere!!!

For breakfast we used the green milk to make oatmeal, which turned our oatmeal GREEN!
Our dinner consisted of green mac-n-cheese, spinach, green grapes, and rainbow jello. Maybe next year we'll go the corned beef and cabbage route. It just doesn't sound as fun. Might have to wait til the kids are older. We'll see!

We finished off the day eating chocolate coins and rainbow cupcakes! It was a fun St. Patricks Day indeed! Wonder what the leprechauns have in store for us next year!!!
