Father's Day 2011
For Father's Day we wanted to give our Dad something that he could put on his desk at work to remind him how much we love him. We decided some pictures would be in order. Gage had a fun idea to use speech bubbles so the kids could "say" what they love about their dad.

Senora Amberly
Senora Douglass chose Amberly from all of 2nd grade to recieve the Spanish Award. She shows enthusiasm for the language, helps her classmates, and has an eagerness to learn more. We called her Grandparents who are on their mission in Mexico to share the news. They tell us she is very good with her pronunciation and accent of the words. Super job Amberly!

Carrigan's Kindergarten Graduation
She did it! She made it through Kindergarten. It was a challenge for her to be away from Mom all day. There were many (possibly most) day's that I would be pushing her in the door as her teacher pulled. While there, I know she had a great time and made lots of friends.
Mrs. Marta had a baby 6 weeks before school let out. Carrigan love Mrs. Marta and missed her tons. Mrs. Marta was from Poland and taught the kids some of the language. They also had the opportunity to write to pen pals in Poland.
Mrs. Howard took Mrs. Marta's place after she had her baby. Mrs. Howard took Carrigan under her wing and really was wonderful. She was from London and Carrigan LOVED her accent!
A few of Carrigan's friends from school. Katie, Gracie, Emmalin, Carrigan, and Kylan.

Amberly's Baptism
We are so proud of Amberly! She made an important decision to be baptized and confirmed today. She is a beautiful young lady. So full of life! She was surrounded by family and friends on this special day of hers.
She was comical in the dressing room. She was not fond of the white jumper she needed to wear. She is our little fashionista and this did not get her approval. I thought she looked darling!
Proud Mom and Dad!
Amberly shares her birthday and now her baptism day with Kayla Medlyn. Aren't they beautiful. Congrats girls!

Field Day-- Gage and Amberly
It was a very warm day. Luckily the P.E. teachers had a plan to keep all of the kids cool! They rotated through 24 (I think) different activities throught the day. Most of the activities involved water. At times, they were freezing, because the wind was blowing that day as well. Emmalin and I went up to the school to watch the fun! There were water relays, a teacher dunk tank, they dug for marbles with their toes, an obstacle course, teachers with Super Soakers, fishing games, and lots, lots, more!

Gage's Toga Party
To culminate the History of Rome unit, the 3rd grade had a Toga party. The kids were told they could dress up as someone from that period of time. Silly me thought Gage would simply wear a toga. No problem! Piece of cake! But, oh no, he decided to be Roman Soldier. Kimball and I actually had fun with this project. It was Kimball's first week of NO MORE SCHOOL and so we were able to work on this together. We used duct tape, cardboard, and red felt and pulled together this little number...
The party was a lot of fun for the kids. They got to enjoy Roman foods, and play Roman games.

This is Gage's teacher, Mr. Yanke. He has been a terrific teacher. Gage just loves him!
Emmalin wanted to try on the costume. Isn't she a doll!
